Hi Dale,
Thanks for your deeply heartfelt sharing - I feel for you greatly π
These are, indeed, deeply challenging times, where the old materiality of life is being torn apart by pivotal changes in the field due to the Shift. Some are, indeed, challenged in the ways you describe within the material - struggling with poverty (although it certainly needn't be this way). π
You asked for a reflection. I trust you're open to it, even though it might be contrary to what you've been following and studying.
I was drawn to this part of your sharing...
Having trained with a great Zen master and other great Buddhist masters over many years, and with a natural leaning toward the Christian mystics and contemplatives, I now find myself drawn to the words of St John of the Cross, and his guidance for the 'dark night' of sense and spirit, which seem to be the pathway for many on the planet right now. To give 'oneself', letting everything sensible and spiritual fall away to be replaced by God;
I would say the key thing is to apply truth from these disciplines, yes, but then crucially: let all form fall away - instead, go with the movement and flow of the soul, and how it informs your being; how does it yearn to create?
One of the key challenges of Zen, or at least how it's often misinterpreted, is that: 'Duality is an illusion'. Also, I hear, at times: 'That there is no soul'. If there's no individuated soul, then there would be no relativity - no 'this' and 'that', no 'you' or 'me', in our uniqueness. Likewise, if we postulate that duality is an illusion. Yes, we are each interconnected by the field, and converge at the absolute, yet the journey of the soul is unique to each of us. How can it be otherwise - you are having your unique experience, and others are having theirs.
One of the great challenges of 'non-dualism', is that it tends to dissolve out the uniqueness of the soul - your own personal story. And the great risk of this (which I often see), is that it makes the person ineffectual in their lives and especially in the 3D. They often seem aloof, and a degree detached (more in 4D), and so they struggle to manifest anything tangible in the 3D. Maybe this is what you're experiencing to some degree?
For me, there's also a concern when you say: "letting everything sensible and spiritual fall away to be replaced by God;"
Who and what is being replaced? And what is replacing it?
God, the absolute, is within you, at the core of you, it is you, and the unique soul flows from there. It always does, always did; unless that is, there's some intentioning (like to detach, for example), that overrides this natural dynamic.
So I would ask you to contemplate exactly what you would be doing internally by this - what you'd actually be giving yourself over to?
Well wishes
