Here is a beautiful video I just found. I had only seen this intuitively and it is quite amazing to get feedback from a scientific source.

In my knowing (I will have to see the video to see if it resonates with what Dr sheldrake is saying) the morphic template of a species works at the species level to allow expression of a dog or a butterfly. It's in many parts mutable and yet immutable in some.
