You talk about the two contradicting flows. The physical density is so alluring that it's easy to get lost in some reality that we may want. This I think for me stems from the doubt that if I follow the path which I'm destined to walk I may not get what I really wanted to do with this life. Or if I had not struggled to do these things now I may regret for those in the future. like I regret now. As you said it is a massive headspin.
