What an interesting dialogue. It feels very, well, Zen!

That's like saying the soul doesn't care what vibration it is - but its vibration is ALL it is. 🌈

And then only an ego - a subtle spiritual one perhaps - would constrain or constrict freedom of expression of the soul.

Once the soul is released in its entirety, the full Soul-Ray-Harmonic, with no subtle ego discounting it, then starts to infuse through the bodymind. The bodymind becomes the forged sword for its unlimited, unbridled expression. No denying it - all in, full colour and all. 🤺

Denying its uniqueness is ultimately to deny the sovereignty of the soul. And since the sovereign relativity of the soul, and the absolute from which it flows, are in dynamic equilibrium, then to deny one, is also to deny the other - neither truly exists.

On the other hand, if there is a complete dissolving (of any layers of ego or karmic filter) into the soul, and no limitation of it, then the absolute arises effortlessly in the background.

I have found that this can be a limitation of Zen. There's a tendency to focus on the absolute, and path to it. You cannot aim for the absolute, and attain it - because who is aiming? It creates separation exactly in that moment that something within takes aim. And all you actually end up being in, is a detached bubble from the flow. It may feel like the real deal, but it is only attained through detachment.

Instead, in the Openhand approach, we work to dissolve all subtle identities (including wanting to arrive), instead, allowing the naturalness of the soul to take over. The absolute is then rendered as the background state, without anyone or anything aiming for it.

That's why full and unique expression of the soul is essential.

In my opinion, the very inquiry sounds to me like you're not in the soul fully, and therefore not in the absolute either. I felt that useful to reflect.🙏
